Carnival Kid’s Writer Joey Fama Featured on Concord University’s Alumni Spotlight

ATHENS, WV- For his recent achievement in screenwriting, Joey Fama was recognized by Concord University for the monthly “Alumni Spotlight.”

“It really means a lot to me, to be recognized by my alma mater,” Fama said of the Alumni Spotlight. He continued saying, “I have so many great memories of Concord, anytime I talk to a high school student about college, I always tell them to check Concord out. You can really get a great education, here in southern West Virginia.”

Fama graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor’s in Biology and 2011 with a Master’s degree in Education and has stayed connected to his alma mater. Last semester he guest lectured at Concord in the subject area of Pharmacology of Antibiotics.

Carnival Kid, the short musical film written by Fama continues its film festival run this month at the Lovecraft Film Screenings NYC. The screening will take place in New York City at the Lovecraft Bar on Monday January, 22. The charity event is hosted by The Set NYC, who works hard to end child trafficking. Fama spoke very highly of the Set NYC, “We are so proud that our film can help with this wonderful cause.” The event will be headlined by the music sensation Jour Majesty, whose music is featured in the short, “Carnival Kid.”
